This is probably the part I want you to remember.
You don’t have to be falling apart to be overwhelmed.
You don’t have to have a dramatic crisis.
You don’t have to prove that you are struggling enough.
You can be functioning.
You can be going to work.
You can be taking care of your family.
You can be paying your bills.
You can be showing up for everyone else.
And still be completely fucking exhausted.
Sometimes the reason you can’t make yourself do one more thing isn’t because you are lazy.
It’s because you have been doing too much for too long.
So the next time you catch yourself thinking, “God, I’m so lazy,” pause for a second.
Ask yourself:
“Am I actually lazy, or am I overwhelmed?”
Because those are two very different problems.
And they require very different solutions.
Maybe you don’t need more discipline.
Maybe you need fewer things on your plate.
Maybe you need to ask for help.
Maybe you need to break the task into smaller pieces.
Maybe you need to stop expecting yourself to do everything perfectly.
Or maybe you just need to sit down, take a damn breath, and admit that you’re tired.
That isn’t laziness.
That’s being human.
